Graffiti Sketch - TYPOGRAPHY #2

As you guys may have spotted, I am busy with a new project. After 4 years of graphic design school, I became a real typeface fanatic. Together with my graffiti past, I want to combine these two elements now and then. Think about it as some sort of 'Typograffiti'.

This is the second installment of this new style. I try to achieve a maximum amount of contrast, with few colors. I try to 'rip my pieces into four', to create the same contrast in the background.

Seck - Typographic Wall at Capelsebrug, Rotterdam

A big style change is coming. I decided to not upload the sketch I made for this wall, until I've put it on the wall. Beneath there's a sketch to wall picture, perfect to see the imperfections between the sketch and end result. End piece picture by OB.

I want to do more pieces without outlines in the future, because it gives your piece much more depth this way. OB, you may have read about him in the MPA posts, did film me for this project. Video is coming soon.

Free Font Download! 'Cubik Regular' 2016

Seck Design proudly presents... Cubik!

At this exact moment when I am writing this post, we only have a little less than 500 pageviews left to hit the 50.000. As usual, I want to give you some sort of present. This time it is the Cubik Regular font I've made, available for download from 1001Fonts, Dafont and FontSpace!

Artwork by Jordy van Domselaar

The Font
The story behind the name of this font, is pretty obvious really.. Cubik is made out of the basic building blocks to create letters, created with circles, triangles and of course, cubes.

Free download!

The font has a capital letter set, the digits 0-9, an exclam, peroid, questionmark, comma, and hyphen. Perfect for typographical posters, or other graphic design illustrations!

CHROME GRAFFITI @ ZUIDLAND HOF!

Yes, the first one for 2016! Just a chrome quickie at Zuidland, the Netherlands. My homie Tober fixed this little shed, where we can paint whenever we want this year. Great!

Sunday is Blackbook D-Day #18: Typography Collage!

Pasting letters together

At first, I wanted to let go of the sketch things today.. As I am a lazy dude, I want as less stress as possible the day before school starts again. But after an idea pops up, I cant resist to sketch something quick.

Something quick, that turned out as something totally new. No white markers, no erasing. What started as a lonely S, ended up as a whole new sketch. Enjoy!

Best wishes to all of you guys btw!

Canvas Painting Sold! 'Abstract Dimensions' 2016

SOLD! 'Abstract Dimensions' 2016
Mixed Materials on Canvas, 80 x 60cm

It's been a long time that I've did a real canvas painting. This one is totally different; It is more abstract than I have ever been with my paintings. Though 60 x 80 centimeters is a handable size, there is a lot going on. What it is, is up to the viewer.

It will be the best if it is seen on a distance between 5 and 10 m. Try to focus at the center and you'll be suprised: The black center line will dissolve!

Like my other painting 'Color Cape' from 2013, everything is freehand. I love to work without any rulers, because this way I can practice both my linework, and make my paintings more 'handmade'. The base coat is spraypaint.

If you want to get your hands on this, we could make a deal on the price. Email me at info@seckdesign.com.

This one is SOLD! Looks really neat.
